To lay the foundations of Computer Science, within a liberal arts setting. The student will be able to;
A. Understand the foundations of computer science
B. Understand the relationship between computer science and the liberal arts
C. Understand and appreciate the social and ethical implications of computing

To enable the student to apply these foundations to the development of algorithmic design and problem-solving skills. The student will be able to
Apply theoretical knowledge to problem solving;
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of programming languages syntax and semantics;
